How do I apply for admission to this program?
You can contact our office and we will mail you an application or you can apply on-line at http://admissions.wvu.edu/graduate/.
Do I need to take the GRE, MAT, or some other type of entrance exam?
No entrance exam is required for this program.
My undergraduate GPA is below the 2.75 that is required to be accepted as a regular graduate student. What should I do?
A student with a GPA below 2.75 can be accepted as a provisional graduate student. Once the student completes two graduate courses with a grade of B- or better, the provisional restriction is removed.
How many years do I have to finish the degree?
You have eight years to complete your degree, starting from the date of your first class. Most students complete this program in two or three years.
Do Professional Development courses count towards this degree?
No. While you may transfer six credits from another program or university, the credits must be from an accredited graduate program and the grades in the course must B- or higher (pass/fail courses do not count).
I am currently not certified to teach. Will this program certify me to be a teacher in the state of West Virginia?
No. This program is designed for individuals who either possess educational degrees or are currently working in an instructional organization.
