Brian Patterson's interests are in communication from womb to tomb; that is, developmental communication or communication over the lifespan. Within that framework, his published work includes communication in friendship and family relationships. Brian presently teaches communication and aging, lifespan communication, intercultural communication, organizational communication, nonverbal communication, and appreciation of motion pictures. The motion picture course looks at film by genre including gangster films, romance films, war films, and dystopian films.
