Sara Pitts is from Bowing Green, KY, (the home of the Corvette) where she grew up and decided to stay for college at Western Kentucky University.  Her undergraduate degree is in Corporate and Organizational Communication and her masters is in Student Affairs. Sara worked full time as an academic advisor for several years before returning to school at WVU for her PhD. This time working with students helped developed her interest in instructional and interpersonal communication and research interest in academic advisors and their relationships with their advisees. She is completing her dissertation related to this topic in the 2019-2020 academic year.

In the Fall semester, she is teaching Organization Communication (Comm 306), Communication and Mass Media (Comm 105), and Human Communication in Contemporary Society (Comm 122).  She also serves as the course administrator for Small Group Communication.  She will also be helping out with the Undergraduate Communication Association--the student organization for communication majors--so if you have any questions about that she would be happy to answer them!
