Chambers, DeArtha (Dee)
DeArtha (Dee) Chambers joins the Communication Studies department as third year Ph. D. student with a primary focus in Instructional Communication as the 2022 W.E.B. DuBois fellowship recipient. Current research interests include student dissent and instructional communication best practices. After receiving her M. A. from Ball State University in 2017, Dee embarked on a career in higher education as an instructor for five years before returning to student status. As an instructor, she facilitated courses in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Conflict Management, Religious Communication, and the Dark Side of Communication at Colorado Mesa University. Her return to achieve her Ph. D. is driven by her desire to broaden and deepen her areas of expertise, refine her research repertoire, and continue educating in higher education post-graduation.
