Mawusi, Clinton Stephen

First Year Doctoral Student

Clinton is a first-generation PhD student from Ghana, currently in his first year in the Department of Communication Studies at West Virginia University. His primary research interest is in instructional communication, with a secondary focus on interpersonal communication.

He did his undergraduate degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He earned a master’s degree in Communication Studies from Northern Illinois University in 2025, where he was recognized with the Martha D. Cooper Graduate Teaching Assistant Peer Leadership Award at the 49th Annual O’Connell Awards. At NIU, he served as the Assistant Basic Course Coordinator, was an instructor of record for Fundamentals of Oral Communication (COMS 100), and held the position of Vice President for the Graduate Students Association of the Communication Department. He currently teaches Public Communication (COMM 104) at West Virginia University.
