Richard Thomas, associate provost for graduate academic affairs; Jessica Queener,
assistant provost for graduate education policy; and Betty Mei, program director,
recognized 72 fellows on their esteemed fellowship awards, congratulating them
on conducting groundbreaking research at the University. Thirty-two new fellows
from across the country were also welcomed during the ceremony as they embark
on their graduate studies.
Some
of you may be aware that the WVU Board of Governors voted to approve recommendations
made by the Office of the Provost related to the Academic Transformation
process earlier
today. The Department of Communication Studies is saddened by the results
of this process that will negatively impact academic options available to WVU
students as well as the lives and livelihoods of our faculty.
